When I did "O" maths I used a slide rule. My brothers Tim and Jon used calculators. They went on into successful computer careers.

Who remembers Thorpe bringing in the first calculator into school (I think he also had the first digital watch). The calculator cost 70 pounds he told us. Then a couple of years later my brother Tim made a sixteen bit Texas Instrument computer which he had to program using a casette tape.

Now we've got a whole bunch of guys who probably never spoke with each other at Augustine's regulalry communicating from all over the globe, using the latest in computer and IT hardware and software.

And you know what we're taking most about - the kind of things we use to write on the toilet walls about the opposing football team!

City still sucks!
